The very first Solihull Half Marathon is being held on Sunday 2nd April 2017. The route begins at Blythe Valley and skirtsa round Cheswick Green (Watery Lane) before heading up Tanworth Lane and then Rumbush Lane (Straight past our ground), a quick sprint through the country brings the runners out onto Broad Lane, past the Warwickshire Lad towards Hockley Heath, back over the M42 and along Illshaw Heath Lane back to Blythe Valley.
I have been foolish enough to enter and I am looking for some running mates, if anyone feels up to it (You still have 6 weeks to train!).
If you are not up for running it please consider sponsoring me to complete this event. All the money will be going towards this years fundraising project for Tanworth Lane, which includes the need to raise £6000 towards replacing the practice facilities.
This is a first for me having never completed any long distance runs previously. Training is going well ish and I am hoping to complete the event in around 2 hours. The distance is 13.1 miles or 21 kilometres, or the equivalent of an all run 1050 not out! I will even chuck in £50 myself if I dont beat the 2 hour mark.
I would really appreciate your support in this effort, please give generously, it is for a great cause, close to all our hearts and something we will all benefit from. If anyone would be prepared to come along on the day and cheer me on at Rumbush Lane that would be massively appreciated, preferable with a bottle of Lucozade Sport in hand, or something stronger for the finish.
Please text me on 07948 993790 to pledge your support.
